The UCSA Board
The UCSA Board is a democratically elected group of 6 UCU students who are in charge of running the University College Student Association. We organise social life on UCU's campus by supervising 40+ committees and teams, organising large scaled events, handling the finances and facilitating its 750 members with a platform for social extracurricular development.

Jochem Trok (he/him)My position: Chair
E-mail: [email protected] Nationality: Dutch 🇳🇱 Graduating year: 2026 Major: Law & Politics What do I do? As Chair of UCSA, I lead the association and represent the student body in all kinds of contexts — from meetings with the university to external relations. I help set our priorities during meetings and guide the board in planning and running projects. In short: I’m here to make sure UCSA runs smoothly and keeps student life vibrant and welcoming! What do I like? I love dancing, cooking, going to the bar with friends and playing video games! |
Ecenur Candaş (she/her)My position: Secretary
E-mail: [email protected] Nationality: Turkish 🇹🇷 Graduating year: 2027 Major: Medical Science & Molecular Biology What do I do? As the secretary, I am the person who is responsible for all the non-financial administration of UCU. I manage the digital organisation, scheduling, to-dos and take minutes of the meetings. A lot of calendars, notes and planning I would say. What I love about my position is the overview that I get and seeing how much work everyone puts in :) What do I like? I love travelling and trying new things! I’m not the most brave traveller but I always try to learn more about the culture and history of where I go. I would be delighted to hear your travel tips about your own countries :) Favourite memory of UCU? There are so many, it’s hard to pick. However, I would say that Election Night is one of my favourite memories. Just getting to know my future board and celebrating with them and the UCU community was an amazing feeling. And I mean, I love our bar. Another honourable mention is definitely the dance show, which happens once every semester. Both performing and cheering for friends is super enjoyable, highly recommended! |
Kiki de Wit (she/her)My position: Treasurer
E-mail: [email protected] Nationality: Dutch 🇳🇱 Graduating year: 2027 Major: Economics & Sociology What do I do? I am the treasurer of the UCSA. This means that I take care of the financial side of the organization. I am responsible for the budget, accounting, taxes and insurances. I also reimburse the committees. What do I like? I enjoy baking cakes and cookies, watching movies with my friends and playing sports like hockey and tennis! Favourite memory of UCU? My favourite memory of UCU is more of a weekly occurrence. Every week, I cook dinner with seven of my friends. It is a fun time to catch up with each other, hear the craziest stories and I love not having to think about groceries for a day! |
Dana Jerad Rafia (they/he) Position: Committee Affairs Officer
E-mail: danajerad.rafia@ucsa.nl Nationality: Spanish 🇪🇸 Graduating year: 2026 Major: Linguistics & Cognitive Neuroscience What do I do? As CAO, my main focus is committees. Splitting the 40+ committees of campus with my two other CAOs, I make sure campus events run smoothly, keep track of how boards are doing and make sure they have the support and resources they need to thrive! What do I like? I love spending time in my unit, chilling on the balcony and cooking with Yuna. I enjoy having potlucks and drinks with friends and I am really into music and reading! :) |
Martina Malcotti (she/her)Position: Committee Affairs Officer
E-mail: [email protected] Nationality: Italian 🇮🇹 Graduating year: 2026 Major: Politics & Economics What do I do? As CAO, my main focus is committees. Splitting the 40+ committees of campus with my two other CAOs, I make sure campus events run smoothly, keep track of how boards are doing and make sure they have the support and resources they need to thrive!a What do I like? As a very stereotypical Italian, wherever there’s pasta I will be happy :) I am a big foodie in general, for both cooking and eating! In my free time, you can find me playing volleyball, watching movies and the same couple sitcoms over and over, and spending time with friends. Favourite UCU memory? Definitely the weekly unit dinners with my unitmate the past year. Every Monday, we would eat together and share our highs and lows of the past week, which brought us so much closer together and made for some lovely times. |
Ulysse Escaravage (he/him)Position: Committee Affairs Officer

Splitting the 40+ committees of campus with my two other CAOs, I make sure campus events run smoothly, keep track of how boards are doing and make sure they have the support and resources they need to thrive! What do I like? In my free time, I love to play piano, watch movies (find me on Letterboxd!) and cook for my loved ones (I make a mean coconut chicken) Favourite UCU memory? It has to be the finals party in Tower from my first year: a different DJ set on every floor! And then it got shut down because of the noise and we ended up playing Mariokart on our unit Wii at 6am while the sun was rising. Good times. |
