Announcing your candidacy
To announce your candidacy, you will be required to write an election statement. An election statement can be a maximum of two A4 pages, where you state which position you will be running for (Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, CAO), and why!
In this statement, you can also share all or some of your ideas on how to improve the social life on campus, the workings of the UCSA Board or any other initiatives you might have in mind. Please send this along with your WhatsApp number to [email protected] before 22:00 on Tuesday the 8th of April if you want to have your statement published on the website at 23:00 and to be included in all the events that we will be organising as the UCSA Board. Please also send us a 30-second video of you introducing yourself so that we can post it on Facebook the next day!
If you decide to run later, send us your election statement as soon as possible, after which we will publish it on the website and include you in further events organised by us. The final deadline for announcing your candidacy and sending in your election statement is 48 hours prior to the opening of the election GA, which takes place at 19:30 on the 16th of April. Thus, the final deadline for sending in your election statement is at 19:30 on Monday the 14th of April.

Election Week
During Election Week, it is up to you to convince the students why you should be part of the next UCSA Board. To assure that you reach all students, we will be hosting events throughout election week to give you a platform to campaign! Next to these events, you can and you are highly encouraged to run your own election campaign on e.g. Facebook or any other platform of your liking. Please note that there is a limit of 1 post a day per participant on UCU Students.
You will receive further information after we receive your election statement. At this moment, you will also be added to a group chat with all candidates running along with the current UCSA Board, so there is quick and clear communication throughout the whole week

Important election rules
- You are always welcome to have a chat with us to discuss your ideas and answer any questions, but we cannot give direct feedback to your election statements.
- You can’t be endorsed by staff members or by someone who has been or currently is in a student board.
- As your election campaign revolves around your ideas and initiatives, rather than about the money, we strongly discourage candidates from spending money on their campaign. The maximum amount of money that you can spend is €20 per candidate. On top of this, Facebook advertisements are strictly prohibited.
- You post only 1 time on UCU Students per day. On your own page you can post as much as you want.
- You can’t like/post/comment on your own election posts or other election posts from the Facebook account of a UCSA committee or team.
- HAVE FUN AND ENJOY IT!!!
